CoverFlow
February 14, 2006 on 4:28 pm | In Mac | No CommentsOK, this is very cool. For those who like to listen to Albums via ITunes (on a Mac of course), CoverFlow gives you a far nicer way of selecting the album you want to listen to than scrolling through ITunes filtered tables. Check out the QuickTime video for a demo!
A new beginning
February 13, 2006 on 9:56 pm | In Lifestyle | No CommentsAnd so begins yet another phase in my professional life. Due to circumstances that I’m not getting into here, I’ve left Unwired and started a work from home consultancy. I’ve got one main client lined up, and if the work comes through from them at the pace I’m hoping, I shouldn’t need to take on much else for a while.
Home office life sure is different. There are still distractions, although mostly of my own making rather than those of people running up to me every moment interrupting my train of thought. It sure is quiet! I’ve turned to the radio for companionship during the days, and so far it hasn’t been too annoying.
So far I’ve got a modest home office set up here, with 24MBit broadband and VoIP courtesy of Greg and his buddies at Internode. Hopefully I’ll put it to good use.
This week I have an accountant to deal with and a first official meeting with my clients. I’m also spending time getting essential paperwork up to speed (GST, ABN, RBN, etc) while trying to come up with some ideas for the future.
It looks like over the next little while I’ll be travelling a bit - hopefully this isn’t going to negatively impact on my ability to focus on the job at hand.
Oh yeah, my last day at Unwired ended up in an almighty booze up, with a small group of hard core drinkers moving on from the Redoak to St Patrick’s (*sigh* - don’t ask me why). Anyway, my memory of the night fades out after about 3am, but I didn’t have the stomach to get out of bed until 5pm and Brian’s phone cam snaps weren’t pretty, so you can pretty much figure out how things turned out. Bloody bourbon…
